Novel project directions

DIRECTIONS: You are responsible for reading a book over 150 pages. When you finish you must complete three blog entries and social media posts. Once you finish, you must reply with INTELLIGENT comments to three classmates’ posts. You must choose to create the three blog posts following the directions below.

Each entry must be tagged on fritzsliterarycorner.blogspot.com TO EARN CREDIT!

ALL POSTS AND COMMENTS ARE DUE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17 AT 11:59 PM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A. REQUIRED Write a summary of 500+ words. You may include your opinions-what did you like or dislike, alternate endings, etc.

B.  Make a collage with 7 pictures. Write four sentences for each picture explicating how the picture relates to the book.

C.  Create a soundtrack of 5 songs.  Write the “title,” artist, 5 sentences explaining how the song relates to the novel, and videos. You must include a disclaimer if the song video contains inappropriate material.  *You cannot use any song from the soundtrack if the book has a movie.

D. Create a six word memoir. ONE LIFE. SIX WORDS. WHAT’S YOURS? This can pertain to a character, conflict, event, theme, etc. Write your six word memoir and a five sentence explanation. Post your memoir on http://www.sixwordmemoirs.com/ AND hashtag #sixwords on social media.

E. Write a letter as one character. What would this character want readers to know AFTER the book ends? Write a 400 word letter to readers extrapolating what happens to one character after the book ends. Choose a legible, but creative font to demonstrate the character’s feelings.

F. REQUIRED Engage, or attempt to engage, the author in a literary discussion via social media. Write INTELLIGENT COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS to the author. This is your opportunity to discuss what you enjoyed, how the story changed you, or ask questions you want answered. Don’t forget to leave a link to your blog and fritzsliterarycorner.blogspot.com! *EXTRA CREDIT if your author answers/responds to your comment/question and/or comments on one of our blogs.
